Explain Away:
In PUPware, Crawley explores the notional relationship of a family unit and a unit of alcohol. The show plate is presented as if worthy of decorating a home but it’s decor is characterised by fleabites and chips, as the plate in question (one of a similar group) has received incidental damage due to careless handling. PUP in PUPware is an acronym for Pissed Up Parents.
